About the Author
Glenn Zacher – Mr. Zacher is a partner in the Energy and Litigation groups of Stikeman Elliott and his practice focuses on energy regulatory law and commercial litigation. Mr. Zacher served a one-year secondment in 2002 at the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) where he acted as counsel to the IESO during the lead-up to and for the first eight months following the opening of the restructured Ontario electricity market. Mr. Zacher has also acted as counsel to the Ontario Power Authority, the Ontario Energy Board and various private-sector generators, distributors, marketers and other participants in the Ontario energy industry. Mr. Zacher has spoken and authored articles on energy-related topics.
Patrick Duffy – Mr. Duffy is an associate in the Energy and Litigation groups of Stikeman Elliott with a focus on energy regulation and environmental law. Mr. Duffy was a judicial law clerk for the Federal Court of Canada in 2002-2003 and served as counsel for the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) during a one-year secondment in 2007. Mr. Duffy has experience in proceedings before a variety of courts and administrative tribunals, including the Ontario Energy Board and the Ontario Divisional Court. He also advises both private and public sector clients on matters related to energy regulation in Ontario.
