About the Author
Ronald C.C. Cuming, B.A., LL.B., LL.M., is a Professor of Law at the University of Saskatchewan, joining the faculty in 1966. He was visiting professor at the University of British Columbia in 1972-74 and Assistant Dean of the College 1974-76. He served as Chairperson of the Saskatchewan Law Reform Commission during the period 1978-82. He received a USSU Teaching Excellence Award in 1992-93 and the University of Saskatchewan Distinguished Researcher Award in 1998. Professor Cuming's research focuses on national and international secured financing law, leasing law, debtor-creditor law and bankruptcy. He was the principal draftsperson for Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan in the preparation of Personal Property Security Acts, legislation which also acted as models for five other jurisdictions in Canada. Professor Cuming is the co-author of Alberta Personal Property Security Act Handbook, 4th Edition, British Columbia Personal Property Security Act Handbook, 4th Edition, and Saskatchewan and Manitoba Personal Property Security Acts Handbook, published by Carswell.
Professor Roderick J. Wood teaches and publishes in the areas of commercial law, bankruptcy and insolvency law, and debtor-creditor law. He is the author of several books on Canadian personal property security legislation. He has been active in developing and promoting the use of educational technology in law, and launched the first Web-enhanced course at the law faculty. Professor Wood currently serves as Commissioner on the Law Commission of Canada, and was a member of the Board of the Alberta Law Reform Institute from 1997-2001. He is a founding member of the Canadian Conference on Personal Property Security Law. Professor Wood is the co-author of Alberta Personal Property Security Act Handbook, 4th Edition, British Columbia Personal Property Security Act Handbook, 4th Edition, and Saskatchewan and Manitoba Personal Property Security Acts Handbook, published by Carswell.
