Provides discussion and insight into issues and problems that confront both the legal and financial communities in Canada. Each issue contains information arranged in four sections:

  • Articles
  • Commentaries on recent developments in banking both in Canada and internationally
  • Case notes
  • Book reviews

Manuscripts may be emailed to the Editor-in-Chief, Virginia Torrie, at Articles should not exceed 10,000 words and are to be submitted for the BFLR’s exclusive consideration. The BFLR is a peer edited journal and articles may be refereed, although not formally. Authors are kindly asked consult the journal's Style Guidelines when preparing manuscripts for submission.

The Banking and Finance Law Review invites submission for a Special 35th Anniversary Issue on Financial Technology ("FinTech"). Please see the Call for Papers for details.

À propos de l'auteur

Dr. Virginia Torrie is an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Law in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She received her J.D. and LL.M. at Osgoode Hall Law School of York University in Toronto, and her Ph.D. from Kent Law School, University of Kent in England. Her Ph.D. studies were supported by a SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship. Dr. Torrie’s research focuses on the interplay of bankruptcy and insolvency law and secured creditor rights. She teaches bankruptcy and insolvency law, business organizations law, legal research and writing, and Canadian legal history. Dr. Torrie is the recipient of Faculty and University awards for teaching excellence.
