À propos de l'auteur
David J. Corry, a partner at Gowling WLG, practises principally in areas of labour and employment law, privacy law and human rights. Experienced in both federal and provincial jurisdictions and has appeared before the courts at all levels, the Alberta and Federal Labour Boards and the human rights commissions. Mr. Corry has been recognized by Lexpert® and in The Best Lawyers in Canada in employment law and labour law. He acts for management in collective bargaining and labour relations. He advises and assists in implementation of labour and employment strategies in mergers and acquisitions of businesses and workplace restructuring. He has been a part-time instructor in labour and employment law at the University of Calgary in both the faculties of Management and Law. David has published books on illness and disability in the workplace, collective bargaining, negotiation, the annotated Alberta Labour Relations Code, employment law, the "Wrongful Dismissal" section in The Canadian Encyclopedic Digest and the Alberta Court Forms Manual.
Courtenay M. Mercier, B.A., LL.B., Associate at Waddell Raponi (Victoria B.C.) was called to the Bar in Alberta in 2005 and in British Columbia in 2008. Her practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation including employment and labour (for both employers and employees), human rights, insurance defence, contract disputes and family law. She also has experience in securities litigation due to her previous position as Enforcement Counsel with the Alberta Securities Commission. Ms. Mercier has appeared at provincial and Supreme Court levels and before various administrative tribunals. She has authored and presented papers on employment, insurance defence and family law topics. Ms. Mercier is currently a member of the Victoria Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association.
