The Workplace Safety and Health Act sets out key duties for work site parties, including employers, workers, supervisors, contractors, prime contractors, owners, directors, officers, self-employed persons and suppliers.
Note: Manitoba employers have a general duty to ensure a paper or electronic copy of the WSH Act and relevant regulations are readily available for reference by workers, joint WSH Committees and WSH representatives. Section 2.3 of the WSH Regulation requires employers to provide workers with ready access to OHS legislation, while Section 7.5(1) of the WSH Act requires employers to provide workers with other “required information” that is prescribed by regulation or that may affect worker safety and health and serve to control workplace hazards.
