The Informed Citizens' Guide to Elections: Current Developments in Democracy. This special issue, edited by Greg Tardi and Richard Balasko, provides a focused and scholarly overview of Canadian democracy. The Special Issues value lies in the diverse analyses of the various aspects of the electoral process and the key issues. With the recent enactment of Bill C-76, Parliament has made wide-ranging changes to the Canada Elections Act. Some of these new provisions aim at addressing emerging threats to our electoral democracy, while others support the modernization of the electoral process and improve its accessibility. This Special Issue permits readers to understand the context in which the 2019 general election was held. It covers broad topics such as the electoral system, the concept of public engagement in the electoral process, managing elections now and in the future, political organizations and elections, the constitutional management of election results, as well as comparative and international issues relating to elections. The Work is the product of a wide spectrum of academic and professional contributors in the field of elections
