Annotated Alberta Employment Standards Code
Availability: In Stock
$129.00
Description

This will be an annual publication and will provide annotations of noteworthy court decisions interpreting the various provisions of Alberta’s Employment Standards Code. As with all annotated works from Thomson Reuters, the book includes the current full text of the Act, along with commentary, selected relevant case law, and cross references to related provisions.

This title will provide customers with access to the full text of the Code with digests of relevant cases interpreting or applying various sections of the Code. This is a great benefit to legal research because the annotations include the case citation and a brief digest of the case to explain how each applicable section of the Code is likely to be interpreted or applied in the client’s case.

About the Author

John R. Gilmore is co-leader of Bennett Jones’ Employment Services Practice Group. John’s practice focuses on management-side employment and labour, wrongful dismissal, human rights, constitutional and privacy law. John advises clients on employment contract and collective agreement interpretation and drafting, as well as employee terminations and down-sizing.

John appears regularly before federal and provincial labour arbitration boards, courts and human rights tribunals. John has particular expertise representing federally regulated employers before federally appointed arbitration boards, the CIRB, the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal. At the provincial level, John often appears before the Alberta Court of Appeal and the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench on a wide array of employment and labour matters. John represents clients in litigation proceedings on issues such as wrongful dismissal, disability plans, employment contracts, compensation/share arrangements, breach of fiduciary duties and employee confidentiality.
