This publication also provides guidance with respect to charitable registration, allowable charitable activities, maintaining books and records, issuing donation receipts, and GST and PST rules applicable to charitable organizations.
About the Author

Paula Ideias received her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1998 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2000. Paula is currently a Senior Tax Writer at Thomson Reuters. Before coming to Thomson Reuters, Paula practiced tax and estate planning at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for more than eight years, specializing in tax compliance and planning for high net worth individuals, owner-managers of private corporations, trusts and estates, and Canada-U.S. cross-border income tax compliance and estate planning.
Paula has authored several research papers on various tax and estate planning topics, including Ownership of U.S. Residential Property by Canadian Residents, which was presented at the Canadian Tax Foundation's 57th Annual Tax Conference. Paula is also an editor of the 2009 edition of the Practitioner's Guide to Ontario Corporate Tax. Paula is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, STEP Canada and the Toronto Estate Planning Council.
