About the Author
Bradley Freedman is a partner and Vancouver regional leader of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP's Information Technology Group. He advises clients in negotiating, structuring and documenting information technology and intellectual property transactions and acts as counsel in litigation, arbitration and mediation regarding information technology and intellectual property disputes. Domain name dispute arbitrator. Author of Consolidated Electronic Commerce Statutes and Regulations (Carswell, 2014), "Domain Name Disputes" (chapter) in Consolidated Intellectual Property Statutes and Regulations (Carswell, 2015) and "Internet Law" (chapter) in Annual Review of Law & Practice, BC Continuing Legal Education Society, 2015.

Kathleen Lemieux is a lawyer in BLG’s Intellectual Property Group and Litigation Group, and is a member of BLG's Partnership Board. Based in Ottawa and fluently bilingual in English and French, she practises in both languages, specializing in trademark prosecution, intellectual property litigation, and IP transactions. Kathleen assists clients with the development, administration and protection of intellectual property rights, with an emphasis on trademarks, copyright and licensing agreements. She has a wide range of experience in advising clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings, and in assisting with litigation involving intellectual property rights before the Federal Court.

Beverley S. Moore is an IP lawyer, trademark agent, and partner in BLG’s Ottawa office. She specializes in the area of intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on patent litigation and proceedings under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations (NOC Regulations). Beverley regularly advises clients on regulatory issues such as patent listing under the NOC Regulations, reporting to the Patented Medicines Prices Review Board (PMPRB), and the Register of Innovative Drugs. She also works closely with BLG’s patent prosecution team to advise clients and provide opinions on patent portfolio management issues in light of these legislative schemes. Furthermore, Beverley advises clients on the intersection between international trade and IP issues, particularly with respect to patents, trademarks, and copyright. Beverley has appeared before the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal and has been an advocate before the Supreme Court and the PMPRB.

Chantal J. Saunders is a partner and patent agent in the Ottawa office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP. Chantal specializes in the area of intellectual property, with an emphasis on litigation. In addition to general patent, trademark, and copyright litigation, Chantal regularly litigates pharmaceutical patents, including under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations. Chantal also provides advice with respect to eligibility for listing on the Patent Register, and data protection, as well as reporting to the Patented Medicine Prices Review Board. She is an advocate before the Supreme Court of Canada and has appeared in the Federal Courts on patent, trademark, and copyright matters.
