About the Author
Cheryl J. Elliott is a partner of Baker & McKenzie LLP in Toronto. She has extensive experience in providing strategic human resources advice to both domestic and international private and public sector employers. Her practice involves a full range of employment and labour law matters, with a special emphasis on employment and pay equity, and employment and labour issues in the context of commercial transactions. Prior to joining the firm, she acted as executive assistant to the Honourable Russell H. Ramsay, former Minister of Labour for Ontario. Ms. Elliott has also authored and co-authored numerous articles and publications on various employment and labour matters including Employment Contracts Handbook, Third Edition with Stewart D. Saxe and Ontario's Equity Laws (Canada Law Book).

Jennifer Bernardo is a member of Baker & McKenzie LLP’s Employment & Compensation Law Practice Group in Toronto. Jennifer’s practice spans all areas of labour and employment law, including counselling on legislative obligations, conducting internal investigations, and representing employers in labour arbitrations and employment litigation. Jennifer also advises on the labour and employment implications of corporate transactions and issues relating to international labour and human rights standards and corporate compliance.
