About the Author
Meinhard Doelle, B.Sc., LL.B., LL.M., J.S.D., is a Professor at the Schulich School of Law, Dalhousie University, in Halifax, where he specializes in environmental and energy law. He is currently the Director of the Marine & Environmental Law Institute and the Associate Dean, Research. From 2000 to 2006, he served a non-governmental member of the Canadian delegation to the UN climate change negotiations. In 2008, he was a visiting scholar at the Environmental Law Center of the IUCN in Bonn, Germany. Professor Doelle was the founding chair of the East Coast Environmental Law Association from 2007 until 2013. He served on the federal provincial environmental assessment panel for the Lower Churchill hydroelectric project in Labrador from 2009 to 2011. Professor Doelle has written on a variety of environmental law topics, including climate change, energy, invasive species, environmental assessments, and public participation in environmental decision-making. His most recent book is Promoting Compliance in an Evolving Climate Regime (2012, Cambridge University Press).
