About the Author
Christopher Menary is the founder and former President of the Centre for Security Training & Management Inc (CSTMI) which has been recognized as Canada's largest private professional training centre specifically designed for security guards & private investigators. The CSTMI is listed as a registered training entity providing training for security guards with the Ministry of Community and Correctional Services, the Private Security and Investigative Services Branch and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities in the Province of Ontario. Mr. Menary has 25 years of professional experience that includes law enforcement, education & training, risk assessments, retail loss prevention, event security, corporate security. In 2003, Mr. Menary received the Canadian General Standards Board (CGSB) certification from the Government of Canada to train the Federal Security Officer training program.

Mr. Menary currently sits on the CGSB Security Guard and Supervisor Training Standards Committee for Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWSGC) as well as a sub-committee tasked with developing standards for Use of Force principles, Use of Restraints (handcuffing) and Impact Weapons (Batons). Mr. Menary also sits on a sub-committee to develop a standardized examination for the CGSB Security Guards and Supervisors. Mr Menary holds the office of a Commissioner of Oaths of Ontario and is a current American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) member and sits on the ASIS Toronto Chapter committee as the Social Committee Chairperson. Mr. Menary is an active member of International Counter Terrorism Officers Association in New York City and is the National Director for Canada of the IAPPA. Mr. Menary has authored two publications with Carswell, The Canadian Security Professionals Guide (2009) and The Canadian Private Investigator's Professional Guidebook (2011).
