About the Author

Audrey Loeb, LSM, B.A., LL.B., LL.M., is a partner at Shibley Righton LLP in Toronto where she carries on a focused practice in conveyancing and condominium law. She advises buyers and sellers on conveyancing matters, developers on condominium development and condominium corporations on issues of corporate governance and operations. She is a member of the Canadian Condominium Institute. In 2008 she was awarded the Law Society Medal for her significant contributions to the profession and to the community and the Ontario Bar Association’s Real Property Section Award of Excellence. In 2012 she was awarded the Gold Key Alumnae award from Osgoode Hall Law School. She has been recognized as a leading practitioner in her field by Martindale-Hubbell, Lexpert, and Best Lawyers in Canada for several years.

Audrey Loeb is the author of the leading texts on condominium law, Condominium Law and Administration, 2nd Ed. and The Condominium Act: A User’s Manual, as well as the booklet Condominium Ownership: What you need to know.

She is a frequent lecturer for the Toronto Real Estate Board, the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Ontario Bar Association. She has served as Co-chair of the Ontario Bar Association, Real Property Subsection Condominium Committee, and has been a member of the Ministry of Consumer and Business Services Real Property Registration Committee, the Ontario New Home Warranty Program Consumer Advisory Committee, the Board of Directors of the Real Estate Council of Ontario and National Board of Directors of the Canadian Condominium Institute. She has been a member of the Expert Panel created by the Government of Ontario to review and advise on proposed amendments to the Condominium Act, 1998 and the Protecting Condominium Owners Act, 2015. She was also a member of the panel that the Ministry of Consumer and Government Services consulted on changes to the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act arising from the Cunningham Report. She is a Professor Emeritus of Law at Ryerson University, School of Business Management. She has completed the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Joseph L. Rotman School of Management’s Financial Literacy Program for Directors and Executives and the Governance Essentials Program for Directors of Not-For-Profit Organizations.

She is a former member of the Board of Directors of Bridgepoint Health and the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation (now known as the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation) and of its Audit and Accountability, Governance and Leadership Committees as well as the founder and Chair of the “Weekend to End Women’s Cancers” benefiting the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.
