Description

Editor: Annamarie Bergen

The Consolidated Alberta Business Corporations Act, Related Statutes and Regulations 2018-2019 contains the full text of Alberta’s Business Corporations Act. It also offers a Table of Concordance for the business corporations Acts that concord the Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA) with the corporations Acts of all the provinces, as well as those of the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Yukon.

The 2018-2019 edition also includes:

  • Full text of the following statutes and their relevant regulations: Alberta Corporate Tax Act, Companies Act, Cooperatives Act, Financial Administration Act, Franchises Act, Loan and Trust Corporations Act, Partnership Act, and Societies Act. The 2018-2019 edition makes amendments to  the Alberta Corporate Tax Act and its Regulation, Cooperatives Act, Companies Regulation, Financial Administration Act and the Indemnity Authorization Regulation, which falls under this Act, and the Societies Regulation.
  • Corporate Registry Forms List, Cooperatives Act Forms List, and New West Partnership Trade Agreement (NWPTA) Forms List.

The Table of Concordance has been updated to Revision 5, which is current to September 2018. Revision 5 takes into account amendments made to the CBCA by Bill C-25 (S.C. 2018, c. 8); certain provisions came into force on Royal Assent (May 1, 2018). In addition, it takes into account amendments that have occurred since the last revision to the corporations Acts of British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. While not in force at the date of publication, it should be noted that Prince Edward Island has passed a Business Corporations Act that will come into force on Proclamation.
