About the Author
John D. Honsberger, Q.C., L.S.M., Barrister-at-law (Osgoode), concentrates his practice on bankruptcy and insolvency law. He has been a part-time teacher, actively involved in law reform – nationally and internationally – written numerous books and articles on Canadian law and legal history – and is the longtime editor of the Law Society of Upper Canada Gazette. He was awarded the Mundell Medal by the Attorney General of Ontario in recognition of his contribution to legal literature over the past 50 years and he is the first recipient of the Ontario Law Society Medal. He is the co-author with Vern W. DaRe of Debt Restructuring: Principles and Practice and Bankruptcy in Canada, Fourth Edition (Canada Law Book). In 1999, the Law Society of Upper Canada named its archives reading room as the John Honsberger Reading Room.
Vern W. DaRe, B.A., LL.B., LL.M., B.C.L. (Oxon), Dip. In Law (Oxon), M.Sc. Econ. (LSE), focuses his practice at Fogler, Rubinoff LLP exclusively on bankruptcy and insolvency law and creditor and debtor rights. He is also an Adjunct Law Professor at the University of Western Ontario, Faculty of Law, teaching courses in bankruptcy and insolvency law and corporate reorganization. Before joining Fogler, Rubinoff LLP, Mr. DaRe was with national and regional law firms and insolvency boutiques in Halifax and Toronto. Mr. DaRe writes extensively in the area of bankruptcy and insolvency, and several of his articles have been cited by courts. He is also the co-author of Debt Restructuring: Principles and Practice and Bankruptcy in Canada, Fourth Edition (Canada Law Book), and the contributing editor to Falconbridge on Mortgages (Canada Law Book).
