About the Author

Peter Dillon, B.A. LL.B. heads the Franchise, Licensing & Distribution Law Group at Siskinds LLP. He is a recognized expert on franchise law in Canada. He  served as the only Canadian member of the Franchise Advisory Board of the North American Securities Administrators Association, and as Canadian Governmental Expert to the International Organization for the Unification of Private International Law (UNIDROIT) in Rome in connection with the development by UNIDROIT of a model international franchise law. He  is called to the Bars of Ontario and New York.  Mr. Dillon  was a contributing editor of the Lexis/Nexis Siskinds Netletter On Franchising, and of the Journal of Franchise and Distribution, and  is the author of over 40 other franchise-related articles. He authored   the Annotated Ontario Franchise Disclosure Act and the Annotated Alberta Franchises Act. Mr. Dillon is the only lawyer in Ontario outside of Toronto recognized in L'Expert as an expert in franchise and distribution law, is ranked in the top 100 franchise attorneys in North America by Franchise Times,  and is listed in the International Who's Who of Franchise Lawyers.  He has prior experience with litigation an insolvency law, with reported decisions in the Tax Court of Canada, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, and the Ontario Superior Court (In Bankruptcy).
