About the Author

Jack A. Walker, Q.C. is an experienced lawyer and partner with the Toronto law firm Walker Longo and Associates LLP where he has practised assessment law before all the various tribunals and courts in Ontario. One of the founders of the Ontario Association of Assessment Lawyers and the International Property Tax Institute, Mr. Walker has lectured extensively on the topic of assessment law. He was a member of the legal committee of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO).

Jerry Grad, P. Eng has in excess of 30 years of professional experience in the municipal assessment and property tax arena including assessment policy, valuation, property taxation, litigation and management. He is the President and CEO of a national consulting company and directs a team of professionals in the fields of property assessment, property system development and modeling, valuation and the development and delivery of training/education programs.

As President of the International Property Tax Institute, Mr. Grad has promoted fairness and equity in the property tax arena and has guided this non-profit organization to its present worldrenowned status. He has lectured and conducted numerous conferences and seminars in the area of municipal assessment and taxation worldwide.
