About the Author

Hamish C. Stewart is Professor of Law at the University of Toronto. His teaching and scholarship is primarily concerned with criminal law, the law of evidence and legal theory, and he has published numerous scholarly articles in these areas. He is the author of Sexual Offences in Canadian Law (Thomson Reuters); Fundamental Justice (2012), a treatise on section 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms; and the Evidence title of Halsbury’s Laws of Canada (2010, reissued 2014). He serves as Associate Editor of the Canadian Criminal Cases and as general editor of Evidence: A Canadian Casebook (4th ed., 2016).
